Hi,

i have just created my forum through SMF, using GoDaddy as my host.

Everything is well and good, except for creating a category under Forum--->Boards--->Create New Category.

This is the error message that appears:

Not Acceptable

An appropriate representation of the requested resource /index.php could not be found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Appreciate your advise on this please.

Thanks!

kat

Godaddy...

I know this isn't about mods. But, read this:

But, as you're with Nodaddy, don't hold your breath...

Hi K@,

i have called nodaddy but they refused to disable the mod security.

In fact, i just got off a 1 hr call with them, cancelled and re-applied my hosting a/c with them, uninstalled SMF and reinstalled it, but to no avail.
I am still unable to "Create a New Category".

Any alternatives?

Thanks much.

kat

I know this is a bit glib. But, the only alternative is a host that gives a ****** about their customers.

As I said, in the topic I linked you to, mod_security is REALLY pathetic.

QuoteIf you happen to have the word "Essex", on your site, mod_security will only see the "sex" part and throw a hissy-fit. I've even known a server refuse the words "Hot water", because it contains the letters "T". "W", "A" and "T", in that order.

In truth the word "security" is a bit of a misnomer, with that, because attempting to kibosh profanities isn't, really, anything to do with security.
