I noticed that smCore on github is mvc based. I am suggesting that we make smCore a Laravel package, over symfony. It would be easier to integrate in the long run. I submitted a pull request to the smCore master. I also updated phpunit.xml to be up to standard with mvc.

You did mention here http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=511570.0 that SMF 3.0 was going to be mvc based, and mentioned wanting to use twig as a template system. If we made SMF 3 mvc based using Laravel, we could use the blade template system.

So? Laravel doesn't fit where I think SMF should go. We already have an MVC-like structure, which would have to be totally rewritten from scratch (as opposed to actually being able to keep the code we already have)
