With the way things have evolved over the years, is it necessary to continue having the option to use multiple images for membergroups? It seems to me that forum admins prefer to use one image to express the membergroup, rather than use 5 red block images or something.

Is this something we can trim away from SMF to make it leaner?

Well, the option to print 1 or 5 or X images doesn't really adds any impact on performance or anything like that, so removing it will certainly not make it leaner.

Is it necessary to continue to have that option, yes, I say it is.

Especially as most forums use multiple images for the post count group...

Ok, if it isn't much of a performance impact and it's still widely used for post groups, then I see no need to drop it. Thanks.
