1.  Why do I see this in my profile?

2.  When I click on any link here;  I am getting teh page to open, but simultaneously another tab opens up to a "rogue" commercial site.  What's up?

Are you sure you don't have any malware on your PC...? Sounds very much like it.

1) was a measure introduced to try to reduce the number of private help requests.

Well;  I was a respected member among Mods here.  I never abused pm's and still;  I wasn't really answered.  I used to get PM's from Oldiesman and a couple other mods.

I don;t like it!


Malware...Will check, but my Norton 360 usually finds and quarantines or kills any security issues.

all the checkbox does is show/hide the warning when you send a PM... it does nothing to stop users from sending you a message.

As does mine, but something slipped through the net last year which I had to hunt down and remove manually to ensure that it had been completely removed, so make sure that you double check.

Not to labor over the PM issue.  I was talking about a bold line of text in profile or settings that had that message.  Glad to hear that it is just a "faux" message

As far as the pop-ups.  I believe it was an app called "Web browse".  I removed it after I saw it pop up a couple times.
