The (12 Viewing) is the mod I'm looking for.

This mod will show total users or guests viewing the thread.

if this is available, please provide a link to the mod or how to do this manually.

That's built-in feature, if I understood correctly what you're looking at.
Go to:
Admin panel - Configuration - Current theme - Show who is viewing the board index and posts - select "show only numbers" and that should be all.
