Hello I am looking for some assistance I am a bit of a newbie with SMF Installations and unsure everything to fix an issue with my forum installed on a sub domain on a Dedicated Server.

The Issue I am having with my form after I finish the Install I get the following issue I would get broken Image Links that is display and it feels the images are not fully loaded and I don't get full Forum functionality were its very difficult to move around the forum. The Steps I have tried are as follows. Also I my Server is run by Direct Admin and I have changed the permissions and made her I had folder ownership before trying below. I have a screen shot added to this so you can see what I am seeing also currently I still have Installed.Php still added to the server do to the many reinstalled I have stopped removing it as I am unsure if that's causing the issue,.
1. Repair Settings_php

2.Uninstall SMF/ Reinstall SMF

3.Download a clean Copy and Install

4. Delete Database and setup from scratch
5. From MySQL Managment Checked for Errors
6. From MySQL Managment used the Repair Function

Can someone tell me what I have done wrong I  apprecate any help you can offer

A mere hunch...

When you sent all the files to your site, did you use Filezilla, by any chance?

If you did, try again. But, before you do, go to the "Transfers" menu and change the "transfer type" to "binary", not "Auto", which is the default setting.

Your paths are incorrect.  The missing images are where they're supposed to be, and load when linked directly.

That's odd. I tried that, earlier, and just got placeholders.

Maybe there's been some fiddlin', since then. :)

I tried that and I still have the broken images; I am unsure if there is something I am Missing; I even discussed with my tier 2 Server Administrator  as I am the Tier 1 and we still having an issue we have an other forum that works on the Server but that Forum been on the Server for 7 Years and this is the first time we added a second forum is the the issue with be having it as a subdomain?

One image, particularly, is supposed to be here:

http://edgecity.shadowfleet.org/Themes/default/images/off.png

Is that path correct?

In the theme's settings page, is "This theme's images URL:" pointing to the correct directory? http://edgecity.shadowfleet.org/Themes/default/images

Is that directory and it's contents read-enabled?

Why don't you give us a link to your forum so that we can investigate ourselves and post back to you with ideas? Either the images didn't get uploaded, permissions / chmod is wrong on the images, or the paths are incorrect.

Interestingly (or not), the image paths are correct -

<img src="http://edgecity.shadowfleet.org/Themes/default/images/off.png" alt="No New Posts" title="No New Posts" />

....but the images don't load.  If you link to them directly from the homepage, they load.  If you try to link to them from here, you get access forbidden.

right... and that right there indicates the problem.

Some script or other setting on the host side of things is preventing us from accessing the images and CSS...     and the same thing is preventing the forum from doing so as well.

You have added something in your .htaccess or directory protection on the host side.
remove it.
