Can I make new users select what group they go into?

Hi

So lets say I create two groups, book readers and book stores

Then when they register, they can select that they are a book reader or a book store and this gets highlighted on their profile etc to let people know who they are...?

If you just want to have that indication, you can use a custom profile field instead of a membergroup.

If you have any other use for that, which requires a membergroup, but that choice is optional, you can use this MOD

If the choice is mandatory, well, there is no MOD for it... But you can follow this topic, where the same purpose was achieved
