Membergroup mess up

I realize that this is an ongoing problem in SMF's older versions, not sure about 2.0.7, however, I did not create a backup.

Anyways I added html code into the membergroup's username to alter is color more, and like I would suspect it would all fit in the code, but once I clicked save it wouldn't save half of the characters I put into it (because there's a set char limit on SMF's usergroup names).

Anyways, I'm pretty sure it didn't save the closing of the html codes (</span></font>) and now it looks all messed up, and I can't even edit the membergroup anymore.

I'm wondering if anyone can help me manually edit or delete this membergroup. It'd be nice, thanks.

html markup was something along the lines of this: <span style="color:#FF0000;text-shadow: 0px 0px 0.5em #FF0000;"><img src="http://runeline.com/crowns/donator.png" /><font color="red">test</font></span> (Image currently wont work since the website for the image is down, but that's aside the point.)

Realizing that it didn't need the image since I already installed a crown mod, I clicked save anyways.  :-X

It's been done (and reported here) many many times before... you need to edit the group titles directly at the database - think phpmyAdmin.

Ahh okay, pardon me for not looking. Thanks! Got it fixed.

And do note... This is not an smf bug...   You are not allowed to put HTML into a member group name.

Ahh, may I ask why not?

Kindred

because it doesn't allow it...

the code is designed -- and it's not a bug because that is as intended.

Membergroup names can be styled on DISPLAY (output), not on entry (input)...
