Hi all.

My (very considerate...) hosting company has restricted outbound ports and my forum can no longer connect to www.stopforumspam.com

This means dozens of spam registrations waiting for me to moderate :-(

They will only turn on specific ports if I request them.

How do I find out which port is used by this plug-in?

Thanks

Steve

Apparently, port 80...

$url='http://www.stopforumspam.com/api?ip=' . $ipSpam;

$response = fetch_web_data($url);

According Function database:
Quote

    Can fetch data from an FTP URL
    Won't work if fsockopen or fwrite are disabled.
    When connecting via FTP, attempts to connect in passive mode and dies if it can't
    Supports secure FTP (ftps) and HTTP (https)
    Returns the data that was fetched

Thanks.

They finally admitted to having installed a new firewall. Once they'd sorted out the default settings, it started working again...

Good of them to use us customers as beta triallists  :(
