I want to use icon instead of stars for groups. Please tell me how to create and upload icons.

For you to create icons you need an image editor and some skills :) So you create whatever image you'd like to use.
Then you upload that image to Themes/default/images.

And finally you edit your membergroup to use your created image and "Number of star images:" --> 1

;)

I uploaded the icons through ftp and selected the file in membergroups. But it is not displaying. And when I connect through FTP again, the files are not there! Can someone help?

What format did you save the files as? Just to check you didn't upload something the system can't make sense of.
Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try Again. Fail again. Fail better.

First i used .gif, but it didn't work, so then I used .png, and that didn't work as well.

Can you open the image in your browser outside the membergroups interface, like when you try to access it directly?

Say yoururl.com/forumpath/themename/images/filename.gif ?

Can you also check what chmod permissions the file has and the folder it is in?

No I am not able to see it.

Justyne

And the permissions? You not being able to see it might be caused by that.

Are you sure though you have the correct path to the image?

I used the FTP client to check whether the files are there or not. They are not.

I set their permissions same as the other gif images in folder.

Justyne

That sounds like an upload problem then.

What happens if you upload them again?

Upload them via cPanel -> File Manager. The images have to be there in the first place :o
