Is there a way to determinate/recognize all images in a post?

Hello everyone.

I was searching a lot at google but couldn't really find what I was looking for so I'll throw my question up here.
I'm searching for a function or way that makes it possible to find images inside a SMF post.

I want to use it in the ssi_boardnews so that I can display only one image instead all of them.

Basically I was thinking about applying the function at the $news['body'] variable.
The function would make it possible only showing one image instead all of them.

Feedback is appreciated.
