Need Addl Fields in Registration Page

Is there a way to add fields into the registration page that would appear in the Admin registration approval?

I have a couple of add-in boards based on who they are, and would like to have them indicate on registration which boards they would like access to.

Go to Admin - Core Features and make sure Advanced Profile Fields is enabled, once that is done go to Admin - Feature and Options - Custom Profile Fields

From here you can set a new field where they can say the boards

It is not possible easily to have a list of boards where than can choose.

An alternative might be to modify the registration page in such a way that the users who request registration need to check some boxes or radio buttons (the difficult part may be to make sure they make any choices at all). Easier yet, as part of the registration process they could be directed to a separate page with a form that presents choices and gets their input. Hope this helps :)

Alternatively, a list of groups that one can freely join, plus the joinable groups mod (to show it on registration) which could help with that.
