I am running version 1.1.19 and can't get the email notifications to work when a User replies to your post.

I have turned on notification for replies on under the User's profile and the forum does list Topic/Board Notifications for notifications but when testing emails/notifications are not sent.

Is there an overriding option which turns this off?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Kindred

are *ANY* notifications sent form your site?

Do you get PM notifications?
Do you get admin notifications of new users?

If not, then your mail is likely not configured...
What is your mail configuration?

if so, then either some other mod is breaking it or I would have a chat with your host...

Please do not PM, IM or Email me with support questions.  You will get better and faster responses in the support boards.  Thank you.

I am getting PM messages.
I registered a new User but the "new" User email was not sent out.

Sorry...Where do I find the mail configuration?

I have this forum setup from a GoDaddy hosted website using a link.

Thank you for the feedback.

Server settings>Feature Configuration?

Kindred

actually, this appears ot be an ongoing issue with godaddy mail servers.

one of the sites I admin is also on godaddy.
Admin notifications and PM notifications go through....  POST notifications are either delayed or lost.

My suggestion -- get a better host

Ok...I am getting a little up to speed on this...

I changed the configuration to the following...

SMTP
smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 465
My Yahoo Username & Password

and then received the following Forum error on the log:

Could not connect to SMTP host: 111 : Connection refused

Any thoughts using a Yahoo mail server?

Thanks!

Kindred

you can't.  Yahoo recently changed their mail server and will not accept outside connections.

Ok...so using yahoo is not an option.

I will give Godaddy a try.

SMTP
smtpout.secureserver.net
Port: 80
my email Username & password.

I don't mind the delay you mentioned prior.

Do these configurations seem right?

Kindred

not a clue... I use phpmail, not smtp on godaddy
