Is there a way to change the default Message Icon per board?

Ive got an icon i want to use for a for sale section and want it to auto select it instead of defaulting to "standard"

no...   there is no option in SMF to do that... and I don't think there is a mod for it yet...

You could ask in mod request board but no-one can guarantee that it will be made.
