Hallo. :)

I bought me a SSL Certificate. Now i have the Probleme, that installed SMF shows me this kind of Problem (false.JPG in the Attach). So my Idea was to move the existing SMF from http:// (root) to https:// (sub), that i can see the (right.JPG in the Attach). So my Question. Do you think that is possible and work?

Best Regards!

Arantor

Why do you need to move it to a subdomain?

Sounds to me as though you didn't tell SMF to use SSL for all the theme stuff... a link would help to be sure though.

Erikson

Hallo Arantor. How can i tell SMF that i use SSL?

You start by providing a link so we can actually check that's what the problem is...

Erikson

Hallo Arantor. Is it possible to send you the URL private? I dont want to post the URL here. Notice. When i use the standart Theme, i have the same Problem. FF and IE says (mixed Content, some unsecure Content will be blocked from FF and IE) It seems for me, that the Pictures are the Problem.

I don't generally like doing things privately unless people are paying me, because I rather have it in public where people can learn from it.

But it definitely sounds like you need to configure *all* the paths (not just the forum URL) to have https in them, check out the themes configuration area.

Erikson

OK, i understand your saying. Sorry. Now i checked the URL's and make it to https://. Nothing happens. Will it be helpful, that i delete the Theme and reinstall it?

Deleting the theme would not have made a difference.

You need to go into the theme settings and check the theme's URL begins with HTTPS.

I'm sorry, I don't have the time to look into this for you.

Put this on your site URL:
index.php?action=admin;area=theme;sa=admin;sa=list

Stuff at the bottom:
Base path to Themes directory:
Base URL to the same directory:

Second one needs the https

Curious as to why you cannot include the URL to your site here? I know you offered to PM it, but wondering why you can't just post your URL here?

Dear mashby you have a PM. Now i found another SSL Mixed Error.

Smiley Sets

It seems, that a external URL with Pic won't work correct with SSL.

Dear's. Now my testing ends. Found no other Error. I try to install a Crip theme. Works perfectly with SSL SMF. I got there only the same Mixed Errors (External Link with Picture File) like in the standart Theme.

You keep posting links that make no sense at all. They are links to images on simple machines.org not to any sites or images that represent your site. Please provide the URL to your site so we can actually take a look at the error because the information you are providing seems to be seriously lacking and we really can't debug with out looking at the site itself. Obviously you are missing the HTTPS in some locations because many people have indeed run a secure SSL site using SMF, and do not seem to have the problems that you've been having

Dear Kindred. This Links with this Pictures are linked to SMF are in the Forum Script. Fact! Yes but they are external from my Page. Here no SSL Works, not a simple not a wildcard, no SSL works there. The Pictures are not secured by my Page, so Firefox and IE says mixed Content and don't validate this. I contact my Cefticate PR GeoTrust Inc., same Words. So, i have two alternatives, i copy the Pictures, host it at my host, change the Links in the Script. This is my Solution for the first Problem. Second Problem is, that i have a installed SMF Version. This will never works, when you buy you a SSl Certificate and install it. My Solution sayed before, i will take the SMF to another Sub Directory do the repair_settings.php and hope that ist running. Other i can't do. I am wondering. You get Access to the Test-Directory and you can see all. So where is here the Problem, sorry?! Don't you get the PM? Please sorry, but i cant give you access to the root.

I have received no PM from you with any URL. So I don't know quite what you're talking about. Additionally the links that you have been providing two images in your post above are not useful in the least they link to images on the Simple Machines. Org site not on your own site if you want to provide images of things that are happening on your site provide them external to this site. Basically you have provided no useful information to help you debug.
