I'm curious if anyone has already made this mod.

The easiest way to explain it is this - I want the ability that whenever someone posts a word, that particular word becomes a hyperlink to some other page on my website.  I run a hockey website.  So if some types the words Wayne Gretzky in my forum somewhere, the words Wayne Gretzky automatically hyperlink to another page on my site that has a profile for Wayne Gretzky.

Make sense?  Has it been made already?

Chalky

You might be able to do it with the word censor...

Arantor

Sounds more like the glossary mod to me.

Kindred

yup - that is EXACTLY what the glossary mod does.

it does need a few tweaks to work with 2.0.8, but it is still decent

Yes, I like the looks of the glossary mod - but I'm not all that confident in making tweaks in the installation.

If it's only a few words that need doing, this would work perfectly.

You might be able to do it with the word censor...

For example, if you wanted every mention of "SMF" to appear thus:

We think SMF is/are weird! (The "SMF" is clickable)

you could censor SMF and replace it with SMF

kat

Really?

On one forum I use, the censor is used to replace every mention of my name with . Yet, if my name's mentioned in a topic title, it stays as my name.

But you cant use links on the replace try in a New fresh install

Ah, right. Yeah, that screws topic titles. :P

Bummer. I wonder what it'd take, to put that "right"...?

I bought the Auto Links Words Mod for $2.50.  I installed it and had it working within 10 minutes.  Bravo!
