Hello,

We're having an issue with our forum at

prsten.us

It has been going down and another admin tweeted about it to SMF, they said they will look into it. We have the forum back up but not the boards. Now we get:

Table './prsten5_forum/48094_smf_log_topics' is marked as crashed and last (automatic?) repair failed
File: /home/prsten5/public_html/Sources/Display.php
Line: 203

We're kind of stuck as what to do next. I apologize if this is not the correct place to post this.

Thanks!

Arantor

Unfortunately there's nothing we can actually do about it.

We don't run that forum or own it or look after it. Your forum's administrator will need to be involved - and we can certainly tell them what needs to be done, but we unfortunately can't do it for them.

JollyJingleJellybean

I am one of the admins.

So how should I proceed from there?

Arantor

I'm sorry, it just seemed from what you were saying that you weren't.

Do you have access to the hosting control panel?

JollyJingleJellybean

No problem! I am also just as confused, I should have mentioned it before.

I do believe I have access to the control panel.

Arantor

If you go into the control panel, do you have an option for 'databases' or a thing called phpMyAdmin?

JollyJingleJellybean

Let me go look. Let me also preface this and say I have no idea what I am doing so you'll have to be patient with me. :) We have an admin who usually handles this but she is not available and so you have me who is computer illiterate.

I do have all admin powers though so I should be able to get in.

Arantor

Everyone has to start somewhere :)

Let me know when you've got into the control panel - it's not part of the forum itself.

JollyJingleJellybean

I am in the Admin. Center. Am I anywhere warm? LOL Or completely lost?

Arantor

No, it's not the forum admin panel at all. The option you need is not in the forum admin centre.

I mean the hosting configuration itself...

JollyJingleJellybean

Oh I see! Shoot, I will have to see if I can get the other admin in on this because yes, I do have access to that, but no I don't know how to access that LOL.

Arantor

That's kind of what I thought, I'm afraid.

Just nudge in here once that's sorted and we'll see what we can do.
