implement google+ code to my forum

to link google+ with my site, I need to implement a code on the mainpage:

it needs to be placed in a HTML(?) file. but I don't know how and where the HTML document is(and wich document I need to use).

There are no html files involved with smf. All files are php.

This would have to be added to the index.template.php file for every theme. However, I suspect there is a mod to handle the verification code...

You can not just paste the code in...  Actually, looking at that, it is a link... Not verification.
What are you trying to do with that code?

I tried to make an account on google+ etc. for my site, but then the say you need to paste this piece of code on your site, so they can know it's your site. and there's no other way to do that.

that mod don't have effect on the thing I want.
