Hi all,

I am trying to upgrade and get the forum to 2.0.9 but we are still on 2.0.7 so I have been trying to install the 2.0.8 update via the package manager and get this error (see attachment for more detail)

13.   Execute Modification   ./Sources/Memberlist.php   Test failed
3.   Replace   ./Sources/Memberlist.php   Test failed

I have downloaded a new copy of the file and uploaded it to the package manager but still does the same.

Thanks in advance =)

Pity we don't do parsers, for these patches, as we do with other packages, really... Maybe I ought to suggest it. :)

QuoteI have downloaded a new copy of the file and uploaded it to the package manager but still does the same.

is mildly worrying... I have no idea what you actually mean, by that...

I have a small hunch, though...

If you look at the top of Memberlist.php do you have a line like this?

* @version 2.0.2

Does it actually say 2.0.2?

If it's different, even on something so trivial, it'll give you that error.

Hi K@

What meant by saying
QuoteI have downloaded a new copy of the file and uploaded it to the package manager but still does the same.
was that I download the patch file from the site and uploaded it.

QuoteIf you look at the top of Memberlist.php do you have a line like this?

Yes it does say that, do I need to change it to say 2.0.7?

Thanks =)

No, it's fine, if it says 2.0.2. It must be another bit of that file that's causing hassles.

Do you know how parsers work?

Someone just pointed-out that there ARE parsers, for these patches. They just happen to be well hidden, for some reason.

http://custom.simplemachines.org/upgrades/index.php?action=upgrade;file=smf_patch_2.0.8.zip;smf_version=2.0.7

That shows you what edits it's trying to make. :)

Predictably, the edits that it makes to that file are right at the bottom...

TheKhemist

I manually edited the php file and did the upgrade to 2.0.8 then did the 2.0.9 update all working fine.

Thank you
