I have created a logo, how can I match the background color of the smf default page, to the background of the logo

Would be great to see your logo in action on your site. Did you happen to make a transparent PNG of it? That would help using it anywhere.

Just create a logo with suitable colour of your theme .PNG format with transparent and you get the solution.

If it helps, Firefox has an add-on, named "Colorzilla", which is a colour-picker.

I use a program called colorcop to work out the code color
Very easy to use
