Assign a username to guest posters

I have an issue I need fixed on my SMF forum running on the latest software.

I used to allow guest users to post using their name and now intend converting those guest account to real ones or creating a random user and assigning all guest post to him.

eg. I can create a user, named "anonymous user" or "anonymous poster" and locate the table containing all guest posters from the database and assigning their post to this user.

is their anyway to achieve this?
