Safe to delete Salvaged Area and boards?

Hi,

I recently did the UTF8 upgrade and at the end of that I now have a new category called "Salvage Area" - with two new boards "Salvaged Topics" and "Salvaged board"

'... Topics' says there are 0 topics and 0 posts.

'... board' says there are 143 topics and 0 posts.

When I click on "Salvaged board", it doesn't show any topics, but does show links for pages 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, as though there actually were topics listed.

Do I need to research this more, or just delete these two boards and category?
