Import MYSQL but not overwrite?

I believe another Admin pruned inactive users for some reason as I was away for the forum for some time and we had over 2k members. Now we have 170. 

In any event, I have a MYSQL Back up from a few years ago that has the bulk of them but I do not want to overwrite the current MYSQL obviously.

Is there a way to import just the Users and to not overwrite existing users with this backup?

Not easily...   There is more involved than just the smf_members table...   So, you would be talking about importing more than a single table...  When users are deleted, at least, if deleted properly, there is clean up done in several different tables...

maybe worth asking your host if they have a recent backup they could restore?
