Hello everyone.

One of my forums is vbulletin, which is very large..Here is my statistics.

My database size is about 8 GB. I am getting frequent db errors currently with vbulletin for searches. I am planning on moving to smf, will it suit for the extra large forums, as the site is very busy with heavy traffic and large database. Need your suggestions

I think you'll find that SMF can handle a forum of your size. Here is a list of known large SMF forums

That is indeed a big database. It will take you a *lot* of time to convert... Just saying you need to be prepared for some downtime
