Choose from certain membergroups upon registering

Just one last niggle I thought I'd post before I'm off to bed..

Like the title suggests, I'm looking for a MOD that allows users to choose from certain member groups upon registration..

I found an old MOD although it was for SMF 1.0.... and the amount of errors scared me off when trying to emulate, it in.
and wondered if anyone knew of a another mod/method!
