Inviting someone to register as a member

Is there a way to invite a person to join my forum? I am not talking about a guest receiving an invitation to join up, but others (non-guest) whom I believe would be of interest to my group and  who I want to join. This is not that I want to send an each and every person a personal email, but I would like to invite them from the forum itself. Is the a way to do this or a mod somewhere that I am not aware of to do this?

If you search 'invitations' in Modifications, you should see four mods.  Don't know if any of them do what you want, but take a look.
