How to do it so that the links to topics/messages will be not just numbers like index.php?topic=2.msg7 , but will contain words of the topic headlines?

Personally, I wouldn't do that. But, if you believe it'll help your rankings (which I don't)...

Thank you! I am just starting new board, so there is no need in backup...Did you try the service (the first link)? Am I right that it can change the link to something like hxxp://www.example.com/topic/should-britian-eat-so-much-fish?

Yes it can but it's not recommended. It doesn't actually do much for SEO, though, and it has a whole bunch of side effects on performance.

What you need, more than anything, is content-content-content! Even if you have to post it, yourself, to start with.

It's like opening a shop, in some ways. If there's nothing in the window and/or a bloody great sign telling you what's on offer, people won't notice it and go in.

That's gonna get you WAY more traffic than some crap SEO stuff.
