I got 500 error when trying. Is php 5.4 the correct version for SMF?

Illori

yes 2.0.9 works with php 5.5. you should look in your server error log and find out why you are getting a 500 error.

Petter B

OK, but where do I find the server error log?  :-\

Illori

if you are on a cpanel server look for an error_log file, if you dont see that ask your host.

??? ?

That looks like FastCGI (the way your host has set up your server to run PHP 5.5) is having an issue. You might wanna poke your hosting provider to look into that.
Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try Again. Fail again. Fail better.
