Forum board and topic permission help..

please help me for this question for me

is there have any permission control on SMF like this when comes a guest to the forum
the permissions for him like this...

Forum - can be viewed
Forum category - can be viewed
Forum thread content - can be viewed
Forum thread topics - can be viewed
Forum thread inside topic content - cannot be viewed ( Registration required.)

please tell me like this permission control is there in SMF admin CP..

If have please explain me how to do that...

I see that kind of permission control system some of  forum sites...

There should be a tab on the navigation bar that says Admin.
Then from the drop down list there should be Permission
From there you should see something like General permission.
Just select Guest and Modify
Inside that select or check what ever is appropriate.


( also note never start a topic with the words help, or else no one will help you. The word Help does not exist, not in this forum anyway )

SMF has no permission by default to stop a user from viewing a topic once in the board. you would need a mod.

by design, in smf, we do not display any action that a user can not complete....


so if the user can not actually read something, we don't show it.

there are mods to do that, as Illori mentions...    but they are, overall, not recommended -- forcing people to register in order to read your content is more likely to drive them away than it is to encourage them to join...   even the ones who do join are more likely to lurk than to participate.
