1.  My forum reports all is upgraded to 2.0.9 except for Subs-Post.php which is listed as 2.0.8.  How can I upgrade this file? (I'm a newbie)

2.  I have a previous forum (ezboard now Yuku) with thousands of entries in it that I would like to bring into my SMF forum (which only has a few entries).  Is this possible?  This is beyond my skill set if so.  Suggestions?

1. You don't have to. Subs-Post.php was only fixed in 2.0.9 to include changes some people missed in 2.0.8; you can ignore the version on that one.

2. I don't think we have a converter for that but having a look in http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?board=20.0 might be worth doing sometime.

OK, I'll ignore the 2.0.8 Subs-Post.php.  Thanks for that.

I'll see if I can track down some sort of conversion help.  Thanks for your reply.

A quick search brings this

It seems ez doesn't provide you access to your database, so your only chance is a crawler...

Thanks for the response.  However, I am not familiar with converters or crawlers so I'm pretty much lost.  In reading the link you sent, it appeared that a converter was written some time ago (for Yuku) but may not be applicable now.

In fact, I'm not sure what my old forum is now.  The text that appears as you enter it is:  Please copy down anything important to you. This is TEMPORARY TEXT!

You have been upgraded to Yuku. Please login with your ezboard username and ezboard password.

So it appears that it is now Yuku.  I'd hate to lose 10+ years of genealogical data so I'm pretty keen on finding a way to save it.

If you would like to see what I am talking about I can give you a link to the website that has both the SMF and Yuku forums in it.
I'm not sure what the protocol is for listing a URL on this forum.

OK ... thanks.  Here is the site with the two forums listed.  On the left are links.  "Forum" is the SMF forum.  "Archived Forum" is the old ezboard (now Yuku) forum.   The hope is to get the old Yuku info into the new SMF forum and only have one (SMF) forum for people to research.

Thanks for any help ... really!

So...

The crawler converter can be found here:

According to what I can see inside, it does support Yuku. To be honest, I never used it (because a) never needed it and b) it requires PERL) so you might need to read the converter description to understand it.
