Hi all,

I am trying to revive my old site and not sure where to start. If you travel to the site (http://www.importantworkstuff.com/Forum), you'll see the page is all kinds of broken. I can still login and view some content (can get to the admin console); however everything is just in a horrible state.

I have no problems upgrading to latest and greatest; however just ... again not sure where to start. I don't want to lose any of my content.

I just took a backup of the database and attempted to do in place upgrade through the admin console. All tests passed except one - Execute Modification on ./Sources/Subs-Post.php. Think it's safe to proceed? Regardless, is this even the best route to try and revive my site?

I'm thinking the best bet would be to start clean with a fresh install. In order to preserve everything, do I just need a backup of the database?

Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

kat

I think that a good place to start, with this, is to try this:

http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Repair_settings.php

Looks like you have a screwed path, or two.

Once you've tried that, we can discuss how you want to proceed.

You could try upgrading to SMF v2.0.9, of course. No need for Package Manager, to do that! :)

Might be wise to backup everything, first, of course.

Click my sig, for the "How?", for that.

Thanks! Looks like it was just a busted theme. Was able to do the in place upgrades all the way, without issue.

Now trying to install 2.0.9. It's asking for admin user/pass. I'm using the account that I connect with stored in my settings.php and it's not working.

Have to run out for now, but is there another account I've forgotten about here?

Kindred

there is no forum account stored in Settings.php.

To run repair_settings.php OR upgrade.php, you have to have an admin account on the forum itself.
