HELP! Upgrade doesn't work

my forum is 1.1.11 and I clicked the "upgrade your forum" link inside my admin, but brought me to error 403 - forbidden page.
Any suggestions?

Who is your host? Hostgator?

Download the patch 1.1.11 --> 1.1.12 to your computer and install it like any other MOD

Will I able to upgrade from 1.1.12 to 2.0 or above with this patch?

I'm downloading now.

i tried installing but i got this error message

"The package you are trying to download or install is either corrupt or not compatible with this version of SMF."

Sorry guys....wrong upload. I tried again and it upgraded successfully.
Now it's 1.1.12. 

Now, do I need to repeat this process all the way to 1.1.20 and smf 2.0?

if you are upgrading to 2.0 you dont need any patches for 1.1.*.

if you are going to 1.1.20, then yes... apply each successive patch.

If you are going to 2.0, then no... follow the full UPGRADE instructions - you can not patch between main versions.

I'm stucked at 1.11.15 due errors at patch 1.11.16.

Anyway, all i want is to upgrade to 2.0.
Which 2.0 version is recommended?

If you look at the downloads its explained.

Upgrading from an earlier branch (SMF 2.0 or below)? No problem, this is what you need. This archive will upgrade/reset your forum to a clean install of the latest version and will remove all modifications.

2.0.9 Large upgrade you need.

Dont forget to make a backup of your forum and database before doing any upgrade to 2.0.9.

I'm now reading and at same time doing backup of my forum thru ftp. Next will be dbase backup.
