Adding advertisements/banner ads on either side of forum

I have gotten requests to place ads on either side of the my forum from companies that relate to the forum topic.  How do I do this?  Id also like to add a logo to the top. Any help is much appreciated. I have the width set at 60%.

use a portal such as SimplePortal

Also for logo go into Admin - Current Theme and you will see a place to add a link to your logo
