SMF 1.1.8 problem

Hi,

I run SMF 1.1.8, and now as our websupplier is about to upgrade from PHP 5.3 to higher I get a error
"Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 72089430 bytes) in /customers/9/d/c/solkustens-awd.se/httpd.www/smf/Sources/Subs.php on line 2438"

This is caused at PHP 5.5, 5.5 and 5.6. But the site works good on 5.3 (which will be phased out soon).
I guess the best is to upgrade from SMF 1.1.8 to newer?
Any good ideas to what version I shall upgrade and how this is done?

(I'm not very familiar with PHP and SQL)

Thanks for any help!

/Ulf from Sweden :)

SMF 1.1.* will not work on php 5.5 or higher. you need to upgrade to 2.0 for it to work with php 5.5+

Thank you for the information!   8)

Now I made the upgrade from 1.1 to 2.0, but the forum gives me an error code "Unknown column 'a.attachment_type' in 'field list'"
Anyone who knows what might be wrong?

The forum is at hxxp:www.solkustens-awd.se/smf/index.php [nonactive]

Illori

have you run the upgrade.php script? if not that is the error you get.

Another question, if I install SMF 2.0 from scratch, a clean version. Is it possible to import all old posts and members etc from my old 1.1 forum?

Ulfkrause

Thank you very much Illori for helping me! I´m not very familiar with this :)

When I run the repair file I face most options and can add values. But the file ends up with "Notice: Undefined index: database_error in /customers/9/d/c/solkustens-awd.se/httpd.www/smf_2.0/Sources/Subs-Db-mysql.php on line 594 Fatal error: Call to undefined function allowedTo() in /customers/9/d/c/solkustens-awd.se/httpd.www/smf_2.0/Sources/Subs-Db-mysql.php on line 595"

So I dont get any confirm button or similar :´(
