[free] PHP Settings - Just a question

Okay, I'm wondering if someone with a good knowledge of php / setting / smf etc. can tell me what I should and shouldn't have checked from these: ..I've solved one issue by turning on another feature? but wondered what the best set up is to have to work with smf etc? (had a few uploading issues, if any of these settings relate?)
