Security of voting

How secure is the voting mechanism. Specifically, how difficult is it to hack to vote multiple times or falsify others votes?

Me and some other people are trying to get forum software to replace paper ballots so need an informed answer to this question if that is ok. I would presume if you could hack the host and have the required database schema knowledge it would be possible, so its as secure as the host. Is that right?

if you allow voting by guests, it's not hard to "bypass"

However, if voting is only allowed by members, then each member only gets to vote once and there's no way to bypass that
