Moving News Above The Shoutbox

I don't know that this is a mod specific question which is why I'm posting it here.

I have SMFPacks Shoutbox installed and it shows above the News section. I'd like to swap the two so I have the news, then the shoutbox, then my categories and boards.

Any easy way to do this? And if it is something I should ask in the mod thread, let me know.

All this is is moving a bit of code from that mod to a different location, which you would have to do manually. For this reason the mod author should be asked as to the steps to take to get it down. Keep in mind that that particular mod will not uninstall cleanly after this. It can be done though pretty easy.

you mean the news on the board index above the first category? check BoardIndex.template.php, i bet you can find what has to be moved when you look at the file.
