Backing up all files

  I am a rookie admin. (by name only) on a Military forum. I would like to do an upgrade to the latest SMF package but need to know how to back up the database first. I read the backup section but was never informed about cPanel. If you could point me to it I may be able to proceed from there.

Sorry for not responding.. The links proved a little too hard to follow so I just finally did the upgrade without backing it up. It worked out OK but just lucky  . So in answer to your question yes this can be closed.
