I have been using Office 365 successfully for some time now using the instruction found at http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=180532.0;nowap

However, I noticed today that something is not working correctly anymore. I get...

2: fsockopen() [<a href='function.fsockopen'>function.fsockopen</a>]: unable to connect to hxxp:smtp.office365.com [nonactive]:587 (Connection timed out)

No idea why this stopped working. Anyone else successfully using Office 365 SMTP for their email?

If it worked prior, then check with your webhost. Sounds like what I went through the other day.
cPanel did updates, so it could have messed up some settings that your host will need to fix.

My host did just move us from one server to another.

Any ideas what I would need them to look at? I am pretty sure they will be clueless on this topic.

If they would be clueless to where to look, then they are not worth having as a host.
Just tell them what you first posted, and see what they say/do.

What do you know, got this response...

QuoteI've now added the firewall rule here for Office365 and your account can now send mail through this external mailserver.

It is now working again. Thanks
