Can I run SMF 1 and SMF 2 off the same database ?

Am just wondering if I can run the two versions of SMF off the same databse while I transitions user across to SMF 2 ?

I currently have SMF2 set up on www.forum.racehorsehorsetalk.com.au and my actual forum at www.racehorsetalk.com.au

Was just wondering if I could point the SMF2 platform at the SMF1 database or do I need to run the upgrade tool before it will work with SMF 2 ?

Obviously would need to be the same structure for it to work I guess.

You need to run the upgrade tool. SMF 2 won't work with 1.1.x database

SMF 1.1 will not work with a 2.0 database and 2.0 will not work with a 1.1 database.
