Hi ForumMates,

My objective is to posts SMF  posts to my Facebook page. Actually, ultimately, 4 SMF to 4 FB pages.  I have tried several different softwares and services and keep running into the same brick wall, error messages saying the feeds are not valid, refusals to connect to facebook, apps that fail when I try to create them.

Maybe I am missing something really basic.

Here is what I am doing.  I open the main portal of my forum in IE => http://www.khonkaenforum.net

I click on the RSS symbol in the IE address bar, and am taken to a web page showing my posts at this URL
http://www.khonkaenforum.net/index.php?type=rss;action=.xml

I am assuming that is the URL the various apps & services are asking for . . . or do I misunderstand something?

I bought the SMF Hacks Twitter/FB mod for $25.  :'(  This does not involve RSS. I seem to be able to get it to post to Twitter (which is not really my objective), but then can't get the Twitter feed to post to FB, which "should" be fairly straightforward, but isn't. Using the other part of that mod to post directly to FB I get lost in errors. I have spent three days trying to do workarounds and then getting errors or blocked in some way.

Sorry for the rant.

1.  Is there something wrong or some fix for my RSS feeds?
2.  Is there another foolproof free or paid service to post my forum posts to FB page?

Thanks for your help!

Illori

are you using SMF 2.1?

what is the error that you are receiving when using the rss link?

Thanks for the reply.  As I said, I have tried different approaches to solving this.  It is always some version of "not a valid feed."

Thanks for your reply.

Not sure that I understand your question.  I go to IE, open the site in the browser, click the RSS button in the address bar,

and I get this feed  http://www.khonkaenforum.net/index.php?type=rss;action=.xml .  I just did this one minute ago.

Is this the right way to get a feed?  How did you come up with http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=537704.0 ?

Sorry if my question is very basic.

Thanks

margarett

I mean that you already posted that issue (invalid RSS) in the topic I linked you to.
Is this still the same problem? If so, please continue following it in that topic, don't create new ones ;)
