Question re running whole site in https

Greetings - I want to run my whole forum board under https - are there any settings in Admin that I need to set?  I can't find this info on the board here, but in the online manual I did find "Force cookies to be secure" option.  My question - is that all the setting I need to use to run the site in complete https?

I did find some posts on this subject after a long search and have abandoned the idea after reading a couple of posts by Kindred that are based on common sense.  I already use CleanTalk to stop spam and bogus registrations so after reading some of his comments I've come to the conclusion that SSL is really not necessary for me - thank you Kindred for saving me a bunch of headaches!  Sorry, don't have the link to that thread.
