Move a topic to a reply of another topic?

Previous topic - Next topic

This is looking like a "no", but never hurts to ask.

I'm still in "pre-release" on a forum and two of my mods have made posts with completely different, but relevant and complementary information on the same topic. One of them did it on a test board I'm tying to get rid of. His post would be perfect as a reply to the other one, but it's looking like I can only move it to a new topic. Is that the case?

Thanks for looking.

split the message and merge it with the other topic?

Hi there and thanks!

"Merge" is what I wasn't seeing or using as a search term. It seems kind of simple now...

Except you can't order the posts? They're in date order?

Thanks again

actually, while they generally APPEAR to be in that order, the order is determined by the message ID

the message ID does not change even when the associated topic does...

Please do not PM, IM or Email me with support questions.  You will get better and faster responses in the support boards.  Thank you.

Ah OK thanks.

I just moved one to the admin board and asked the guy to paste it back in under the other.

there's such a thing as overthinking! But I got to play with the feature so I learned something.

Thanks again.
