Hello,

a new member of our forum did choose her emailaddress (very long one) as nickname.
How can I as Administrator CHANGE the nickname in a shorter name?

I tried to change the name in  Table SMF_MEMBERS (MEMBER_NAME), but this did not change the name on the forum.

We run SMF 2.0.9.

Thanks in advance.

in other words...   you should have no need to go into the database and manually manipulate the table data.

There are two usernames... one is the login name and the other is the display name...  both can be edited by the admin from the user's profile -- although changing the login name WILL require the user to choose a new password.

Hey,

Thank to you both for your fast and accurate answers.

I changed the display name, and everything is fine now.

Hello Steve,

Thank you for reminding me on that "Marking as Solved".
That is an other issue I forgot about to ask for.

Long time ago, members asked me for a "Solved"-button, and I had to install a SMF-pakket "Topic solved 1.1.1".
After installing there was no Solved-button there.

I just checked again, and found the "Mark their own topic as solved" activated in the settings for members and "Mark their own topic as solved" and "Mark anyone's topic as solved" in Moderators, but I can't find a way to show the button under a topic.

What do I do wrong?

Many thanks.

Post in the support topic for that mod

Hello Shambles,

I resolved the problem. I had not marked for every single board. It's OK now.

Thank you all for helping.
