Does the ad placement on the Forum matter?

Does the location you place the ad banner on your forum matter? For generating revenue through CPM which pays you for the number of times ad is displayed on your site, how does the location of ad on the web page matter?

Also, does the advertiser have a way to know where the ad is placed on your site? If I place the ad at the bottom of the site, it would still be loaded each time a page is opened in the Browser. However, it may not be visible to the visitor.

Yes it does. CPM still goes by clicks if you are generating zero clicks your cpm rate will go down quickly.
