Want to Customise Registration page BUT don't know where to start?

The registration template is stored in /Themes/default/Register.template.php

I suggest you use the SMF API or the SSI script.
I don't know if there's any external mod to get users registered using Google+.
Using the API or the SSI is very easy, you would get job done very quickly, parsing the results from the Google+ would be the most work to do I think (don't know which standard "protocol" they use to share some user informations to you, to lazy to google ).

@jaheller there is a mod by smfpacks.com costs around $29.99 called SMFPacks Social Login and this is the one I plan to purchase. They have done all the hard work, plus they have other features to control social registering. They simply focused on 3 major social networking logins which is really all you need.
