We operate a discussions forum at http://commissionedwriting.com/imforums/index.php

We would like to structure the Home Page in such away that only 1 board is shown under every category and clicking that link would take the visitor to a page showing all the boards under that particular category.

Is this possible? What would we need to do to configure the Home Page in this manner?

We use Win10 and SMF version 2.0.10

Please advise.

Easiest way I can think of is to use a portal to set up a home page with the links, then use this mod to enable viewing one category at a time: http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=486

We did try the ezPortal. It does not do what we have in mind.

none of the portals will do what you are asking by default --   you are going to have to combine some mods - and do some manual work

As Antechinus suggested - you are going to have to MANUALLY list your categories on the portal homepage in an html or php block....

Yup. You can style it up any way you like, but basically a portal home page with however many blocks you like, and however many links you like per block. Just use the "View Single Category" mod to get the url's to the categories, and stack your links down the home page. PHP or HTML block. If it's just url's, then an HTML block would be fine. You could even use a BBC block if you wanted to.
