Any really basic themes with very basic display?

Wondering if there is a very basic theme in white that could be used as a information page to advertise upcoming community events etc. Something with an intro block and then a category box with or without child categories .

You can do an intro block with the news fader. If only one item is set, it will just display continuously. You could also use a portal front page.

@Ed2: If you are using something like simple portal, you can have whatever your default theme is for your forum, but a different theme you installed for the home page where you can add any type of block you would like for your community events, etc.

I was thinking about something like that...will look into it but i know I'll need some help naming the file and placing it in the proper directory etc.
