You mean you're thinking of switching to smf if what you want is possible?

If so, I personally don't know of any way to do that but there is a mod for tabbed categories that may be suitable:

well, let's be clear here....  what exactly do you mean when you say "categories" -- because I get the idea that you don't actually mean categories as we use the term.

Hi again,
I have upload pictures of what i want, and i wondering if its possible

in pic 1 it shows the 2 categories that i want, kjøp og salg and gis bort.

pic 2 shows what happende when i open a categorie, its 2 categories and just splittscreen. its ugly and i cant realy have all my "states" as forums because it just going to look wierd.

pic 3 is showing what i want,
What i have doen here is just 2 page nodes, but they can only show forums as a list, not as a collumn so its not working for me.

pic 4 shows what i want to see when i press one of the forums.
only that categorie with alle its forums.

I hope it was easyer know to see what i meant.

You are looking at a seriously custom theme with custom coding.
What you have asked for (and what you show for,as it is now) is not possible with a standard smf installation

Ok, so then i am going to stick with xenforo, i just have to live with a "ok" forum layout instead of a perfect one.

Thanks fast answering!

There are also some pretty cool designers creating themes similar to what you are looking for. Here is just one example- http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=538774.0

Pretty sure someone could create something exactly what you were looking for. It might not be free of course, but at least it would give you a reason to consider switching to SMF. ;)

Hi Olaf! There's a couple of themes that might give you a good starting point or some hints to adapt your own version if you're able (or your dev/designer):

There's also some code in this topic that might help you apply it to another theme, according to the topic it works so why not give it a go and see if it works for you too :):

I've had this for my own forum since 1.1.3. It's not "out of the box" but definitely possible and after I did it a couple of people made mods for it, which are now gone. Initially though it was only boardindex and CSS changes, some only CSS! :)
