Help with a Plugin

Was looking for a Drag and Drop Portal Plugin that the members of my community can use to customize their Simple Portal. I stumbled upon this [nofollow], and noticed that it hasn't been touched in over 2 years. I attempted to just install it, and noticed the amount of errors and that it wouldn't work with SMF 2.0 +. Is there a way to go about fixing this? Would it be safe to go about manually editing the Portal PHP?
